1) Emphasising that malnutrition is a “hurdle” in the development of women and children, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced fortification of rice distributed under various government schemes including Public Distribution System (PDS) and Mid-Day-Meal scheme by 2024.

2) The News Broadcasters Association (NBA), a private association of different current affairs and news television broadcasters in India, has decided to change its name to News Broadcasters & Digital Association (NBDA).

3) Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally launched the National Automobile Scrappage Policy and said it would provide a “new identity” for the automobiles sector, create job opportunities, prove beneficial for the common man, and help reduce India’s carbon footprint.

4) On the occasion of 75thIndependence Day, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar today unfurled the national flag at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.

➨Dr. Virendra Kumar flagged off a pioneering expedition ‘Operation Blue Freedom’.

➨Dr. Ambedkar International Centre has supported this world record expedition of people with disabilities to Siachen Glacier as part of its commitment towards the cause and betterment of Divyanjans of our country.

5) The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has launched an online portal Training for Augmenting Productivity and Services, or TAPAS, to offer massive open online courses (MOOC). 

➨ TAPAS has been developed by the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD). It will provide five basic courses on Drug (Substance) Abuse Prevention, Geriatric/Elderly Care, Care and Management of Dementia, Transgender Issues and on comprehensive course on Social Defence Issues.

6) Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray launched the e-crop survey initiative which became effective in Maharashtra from August 15.

➨ The project, which was initially introduced as a pilot in two districts, is jointly implemented by the departments of revenue and agriculture along with the Tata Trust.

7) The Indian Navy participated in the U.S. Navy-led SEACAT (Southeast Asia Cooperation and Training) military exercises in Singapore, to demonstrate its maritime manoeuvres. The military exercise also included navies of 19 other Southeast Asian and Indo-Pacific countries as well.

8) North Delhi Municipal Corporation(NDMC) launched 'Cleancity', a mobile driven application that will help residents living in that area to register complaints regarding picking up garbage in that area.

➨The app was launched by North Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh ahead of the 75th Independence Day.

9) Four more wetlands from India got recognition from the Ramsar Secretariat as Ramsar sites.

➨ These sites are Thol and Wadhwana from Gujarat and Sultanpur and Bhindawas from Haryana.

➨With this, the number of Ramsar sites in India are 46 and the surface area covered by these sites is now 1,083,322 hectares. While Haryana gets its first Ramsar sites, Gujarat gets three more after Nalsarovar which was declared in 2012.

10) The Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu has released a book ‘Accelerating India: 7 Years of Modi Government’ at Upa-Rashtrapati Nivas.

11) Women Sub-Inspector Rita Debnath of Tripura Police has been awarded the ‘Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation’ for the year 2021.

➨ The list of awardees were announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs. 

➨ The ‘Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation’ for the year 2021 has been awarded to 152 police personnel all over the country including 28 women police officers across the country are to receive the award.

12) At a time when drones emerge as a major security threat in the country, the Kerala police launched a first-of-its-kind Drone Forensic Lab and Research Centre here with an aim to address the rising concerns in this regard.

13) Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh released “IndiGau’, India’s first Cattle Genomic Chip for the conservation of pure varieties of indigenous cattle breeds like Gir, Kankrej, Sahiwal, Ongole etc.

➨This indigenous chip was developed by the concerted efforts of scientists of National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NAIB), Hyderabad, an autonomous institution under the aegis of the Department of Biotechnology.

14) Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Housing & Urban Affairs Shri Hardeep Singh Puri today felicitated the 11 players who were part of the Bronze medal winning men’s hockey team at Tokyo Olympics.

➨ These players are PSPB Hockey players who are employees of various public sector companies of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

15) Assam's Kaziranga National Park (KNP) became the first national park in India to be equipped with satellite phones.

1) इस बात पर जोर देते हुए कि कुपोषण महिलाओं और बच्चों के विकास में एक "बाधा" है, प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 2024 तक सार्वजनिक वितरण प्रणाली (पीडीएस) और मिड-डे-मील योजना सहित विभिन्न सरकारी योजनाओं के तहत वितरित चावल के फोर्टिफिकेशन की घोषणा की। 

2) न्यूज ब्रॉडकास्टर्स एसोसिएशन (एनबीए), भारत में विभिन्न करंट अफेयर्स और न्यूज टेलीविजन ब्रॉडकास्टर्स के एक निजी संघ ने अपना नाम न्यूज ब्रॉडकास्टर्स एंड डिजिटल एसोसिएशन (एनबीडीए) में बदलने का फैसला किया है।

4) 75वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस के अवसर पर केंद्रीय सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता मंत्री डॉ. वीरेंद्र कुमार ने आज डॉ. अंबेडकर इंटरनेशनल सेंटर, नई दिल्ली में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराया।

➨डॉ. वीरेंद्र कुमार ने एक अग्रणी अभियान 'ऑपरेशन ब्लू फ्रीडम' को झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया।

➨डॉ. अम्बेडकर इंटरनेशनल सेंटर ने दिव्यांगजनों के उद्देश्य और बेहतरी के प्रति अपनी प्रतिबद्धता के हिस्से के रूप में सियाचिन ग्लेशियर में विकलांग लोगों के इस विश्व रिकॉर्ड अभियान का समर्थन किया है। 

5) सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्रालय ने बड़े पैमाने पर खुले ऑनलाइन पाठ्यक्रम (MOOC) की पेशकश करने के लिए उत्पादकता और सेवाओं को बढ़ाने के लिए एक ऑनलाइन पोर्टल प्रशिक्षण, या TAPAS लॉन्च किया है। 

➨ TAPAS को राष्ट्रीय सामाजिक सुरक्षा संस्थान (NISD) द्वारा विकसित किया गया है। यह नशीली दवाओं (पदार्थ) के दुरुपयोग की रोकथाम, जराचिकित्सा/बुजुर्गों की देखभाल, मनोभ्रंश की देखभाल और प्रबंधन, ट्रांसजेंडर मुद्दों और सामाजिक सुरक्षा मुद्दों पर व्यापक पाठ्यक्रम पर पांच बुनियादी पाठ्यक्रम प्रदान करेगा।

6) महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे ने ई-फसल सर्वेक्षण पहल की शुरुआत की जो महाराष्ट्र में 15 अगस्त से प्रभावी हो गई।

➨ परियोजना, जिसे शुरू में दो जिलों में एक पायलट के रूप में पेश किया गया था, टाटा ट्रस्ट के साथ राजस्व और कृषि विभागों द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से लागू किया गया है।

8) उत्तरी दिल्ली नगर निगम (एनडीएमसी) ने एक मोबाइल संचालित एप्लिकेशन 'क्लीनसिटी' लॉन्च की, जो उस क्षेत्र में रहने वाले निवासियों को उस क्षेत्र में कचरा उठाने के संबंध में शिकायत दर्ज करने में मदद करेगी।

➨ऐप को उत्तरी दिल्ली के मेयर राजा इकबाल सिंह ने 75वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस से पहले लॉन्च किया था।

9) भारत के चार और आर्द्रभूमियों को रामसर सचिवालय से रामसर स्थलों के रूप में मान्यता मिली।

➨ ये स्थल हैं गुजरात के थोल और वाधवाना और हरियाणा के सुल्तानपुर और भिंडावास।

➨इसके साथ ही भारत में रामसर स्थलों की संख्या 46 हो गई है और इन स्थलों से आच्छादित सतह क्षेत्र अब 1,083,322 हेक्टेयर हो गया है। जबकि हरियाणा को अपनी पहली रामसर साइट मिलती है, गुजरात को नालसरोवर के बाद तीन और मिलते हैं, जिसे 2012 में घोषित किया गया था।

10) उपराष्ट्रपति, एम. वेंकैया नायडू ने उप-राष्ट्रपति निवास में एक पुस्तक 'एक्सेलरेटिंग इंडिया: 7 इयर्स ऑफ मोदी गवर्नमेंट' का विमोचन किया।

➨इस स्वदेशी चिप को जैव प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग के तत्वावधान में एक स्वायत्त संस्थान, राष्ट्रीय पशु जैव प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (NAIB), हैदराबाद के वैज्ञानिकों के संयुक्त प्रयासों से विकसित किया गया था।

14) केंद्रीय पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस और आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्री श्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने आज उन 11 खिलाड़ियों को सम्मानित किया जो टोक्यो ओलंपिक में कांस्य पदक जीतने वाली पुरुष हॉकी टीम का हिस्सा थे।

15) असम का काजीरंगा राष्ट्रीय उद्यान (केएनपी) सैटेलाइट फोन से लैस होने वाला भारत का पहला राष्ट्रीय उद्यान बन गया है।
